Research Scientist — Multilingual LLMs

About the Role

Mistral AI is hiring a Research Scientist to push the boundaries of multilingual language understanding and generation. You'll work on our next generation of open-weight models.

What You'll Work On

• Pre-training strategies for multilingual corpora
• Cross-lingual transfer learning and evaluation
• Tokenization improvements for non-Latin scripts
• Benchmark development for underrepresented languages

• PhD in NLP, Computational Linguistics, or ML
• Strong publication record at ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, or NeurIPS
• Experience with large-scale pre-training
• Proficiency in French or another European language is a plus
